Rav Dessler notes that bracha
is generated from Hashem through the individual’s recognition that
Hashem is the source of one’s bountifulness and He endows Klal Yisroel
with abundance. The bracha becomes effective when one is
subservient
to Hashem.
In this week’s parsha
we learn of a ben sorer umoreh,
a wayward and rebellious son. Our sages tell us (Sanhedrin
71a) that, in fact, there never was a situation of a ben sorer
umoreh and there never will be one. Nevertheless, the parsha
was written in order to grant a reward to those who study the Torah
and understand the significance of its contents.
“According to the teaching
that they will teach you, and according to the judgment that they will
say to you, shall you do; you shall not deviate from the word that they
will tell you, right or left.” (Devarim 17:11)
Our sages tell us this is so
“even if the chacham will say that the right is left and that
the left is right, and certainly if the chacham
tells you that right is right and left is left.”
PRESERVING ISRAEL AT THE ELEVENTH HOUR, NUCLEAR DETERRENCE, ENEMY RATIONALITY AND "PALESTINE"

Faced with the daunting prospect
of seemingly endless terrorism, and with staggering global opposition
to any of its essential and altogether permissible forms of
self-defense, Israel now requires a complex and capable
counter-terrorism strategy merely to survive. Simultaneously, the major
threats to Israel's physical survival lie in certain mass-destruction
(biological and/or nuclear) attacks by enemy states. Ultimately,
therefore, the Jewish State's actual continuance rests upon even more
than successful counter-terrorism. It rests also upon the inherently
fragile and unpredictable foundations of nuclear deterrence.
July 14, 2010 | Eli E. HertzThe Israeli
Parliament revoked some of your political privileges, sighting your
consistent support of Israel's worst enemies.
You claim you are a "Palestinian" - you are not. You
are an Israeli Arab living in the geographical area known as Palestine, a
territory assigned in 1922 by the League of Nations as the Jewish
National Home.
Furthermore; Political rights in Palestine were
granted to Jews only according to the "Mandate for Palestine," an historical League of
Nations document. All other inhabitants of the Land of Israel including
you are to enjoy Religious and Civil Rights only.
British Prime Minister David Cameron traveled to Turkey last
week "to establish a new partnership between Britain and Turkey," he
stated in an Ankara speech. He described the link as "a vital strategic
relationship for our country."
